  • A little glimpse into my life:

Recently (as in, a month ago when I went to post but forgot my password and was too lazy to click 'forgot your password?' and just tried different combinations until they told me I had no more chances and then I gave up and went to bed), the Red Wings won the Stanley Cup. This was exciting... for Andrew. See, he becomes an eight-year old boy when there's hockey on, and he gets all mopey when there's not, and he makes a lot of strange squealing/yelping/dying noises when the Wings score, and all of this is rather absurd coming from a six-foot-four man with a notably deep voice. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate that he likes hockey. Of all the sports in the world, I know the most about hockey. (Cliché, I know.) But it can really throw you off when you're trying to get work done and suddenly you hear from the living room what must be a dying gorilla going through puberty.

Anyway, Andrew also proofreads for our living. He spends a lot of hours a week looking for mistakes on reams and reams of paper. So the other day, he woke up and told me he'd dreamt that he almost won the Stanley Cup for proofreading. He said, "I dreamt I was proofreading, and the thing was, if I found just two more mistakes, I'd win the Stanley Cup!!! And I was so close, but there weren't any more mistakes, and then I woke up, and I'm so sad..." Poor kid.

In other news, this past Tuesday was Canada Day! I really miss my home and native land, I'll be honest. Maybe I can move back when Andrew and I are both done with our PhDs... in six to eight years...

    Until next time...

  • ain't nothing like procrastination to make you post on your blog...

am currently (or was until now) writing the rough draft of my honours thesis. the operative word here is rough. it's a series of creative non-fiction essays... about things.

the bus is coming up often. perhaps because i spend more time on the bus than i do even in class this semester.

i've also mentioned the estonian philharmonic chamber choir. and lauren wants me to mention england. in the team england sense of the word, not the nick sense. you know.
